TAX UPDATES

Federal

  • The IRS due date for filing 2019 income tax returns and paying 2019 tax due is now July 15. No extension form is required to be filed.
  • The July 15 due date applies to any return previously due on April 15. This is an automatic change to the due date; no extension form is required to be filed.
  • First quarter 2020 estimated payments which were previously due on April 15 are now due July 15.
  • For those who make quarterly estimated tax payments, the second quarter estimate that was due June 15th, is now due July 15th, which is the tax filing deadline.
  • Due dates for other required tax returns, such as companies’ quarterly payroll tax filings, have not changed.
  • Contributions to IRA(s) and Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) are extended to July 15.

 

Minnesota

  • The Minnesota due date for filing 2019 income tax returns and paying 2019 tax due is now July 15. No extension form is required to be filed.
  • First quarter 2020 estimated payments remain due on April 15.
  • Second quarter 2020 estimated payments remain due on June 15.
